Our staff is knowledgeable and willing to assist you in making the best care decisions for your pet. We have on-going continuing education and staff training to continually improve and offer you the best care possible. Equally important to our knowledge is our staff's level of care and compassion for you and your pet. All of our team is here to serve because of their love of animals and desire to help.
Our Veterinarians
Dr. Steve Harry
Dr. Harry is a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced in the Fort Wayne area since 1986 and has been the owner of Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 1999. He resides south of Fort Wayne with his wife and three children. In addition to his family, he enjoys his church, raising cattle, growing fruit trees, playing guitar and most outdoor activities. In addition to cattle and kids, Dr. Harry has three cats and one slightly crazy yellow Labrador Retriever named Willow.
Dr. Harry's special interests include orthopedics and surgery. "I enjoy the challenge of providing great pet care and service to our clients. Our clients often become friends and the relationships we build make veterinary practice extra rewarding. We are constantly looking for ways to raise the bar of excellence in all that we do for our clients and their pets".
Dr. Mark Schlatter
Dr. Schlatter graduated from Purdue University Veterinary School in 1998. He worked at a small animal hospital in Columbia City for a few years before returning home to practice in Fort Wayne. He has worked as a doctor for the Dupont Veterinary Clinic since December of 2001. Dr. Schlatter lives in Fort Wayne with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He enjoys spending time with family, working outside, camping, helping coach his daughter's basketball and baseball teams, church activities and playing sports. He also enjoys getting to work with so many great people and pets and providing medical and surgical care to his clients.
Dr. Jill Rietdorf
Dr. Rietdorf is a 2003 graduate of Purdue University Veterinary School of Medicine. She has practiced with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since her graduation in May of 2003. She resides on the north side of Fort Wayne with her husband Jeremy and their three sons, Aiden, Jonah and Graham. Also, at home, she has 1 cat, Zoey. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, boating, reading, and scrap-booking.
Dr. Rietdorf's special interests include endocrinology endoscopy, dermatology and surgery. Dr. Rietdorf has recently completed a continuing education course and training in Small Animal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy taught by the Veterinary Specialist of Gastroenterology and Author of Small Animal Endoscopy, Dr. Todd Tams. "My favorite aspect of this profession is the ability to not only bond with the animals, but also with their families."
Dr. Elizabeth Lentz
Dr. Lentz has a BS degree in Animal Sciences and a DVM degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 2005. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery, behavior medicine and oncology. In her spare time she enjoys all outdoor activities, such as hiking, sand volleyball, and barbequing. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She has a rescued Dachshund-Beagle mix named Tater and a boxer names Jasper.
Dr. Amy Boxberger
Dr. Boxberger received her DVM degree in 2002 from Michigan State University following the completion of a bachelor's degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Boxberger has recently joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic and comes with a wide experience and knowledge base from which to draw. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Boxberger understands and values the strength of the human-animal bond. She extends her compassionate care to all of your critters that creep, crawl and fly in addition to your dogs and cats. Dr. Boxberger resides with her husband Andy, daughter Frankie, son Harry and dog Ruby.
Dr. Jay Kumaran
Dr. Kumaran graduated from veterinary school in India in1964. A third-generation veterinarian, his father having been in research and academia throughout his career, he initially followed in his father's footsteps, earning his MS degree in Microbiology and co-writing two books on genetics with his father. He came to the U.S. in 1966 on the invitation of the Delta Primate Research Center in Louisiana. While doing research and teaching at Tulane University Medical School, he also began working in a small animal practice in New Orleans. There he found his true caling, and after passing the National Boards he eventually found his way to Fort Wayne where he purchased Five Points Animal Hospital in 1972, which was eventually trnasformed into Allpet Animal Hospital & Laser Surgery Center. After 37 years of caring for cats, dogs, birds, exotic pets - and their owners, he decided to semi-retire in 2009. In 2009 he joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic and transferred his patient's files. He continues to see some of his "old" clients and patients with his long-time assistant and wife, Patrice.
Our Staff
Danielle Becraft
Danielle has worked for the Dupont Veterinary Clinic since August of 2001. She works as a surgery assistant, exam room assistant, and is part of the management team. She lives in the Leo area with her husband Mark, two sons Alex and Keegan and daughter Evie. She has three cats, two of which were rescued, a Bulldog named Gertie and a English Mastiff named Aster. In her spare time, she likes to cook, create custom cakes, scrapbook, garden, and spend time with her family. She enjoys working with all of the pets that come into the clinic and likes meeting all of the owners who love their pets so much.
Darlena Coleman
Darlena has worked for Dupont Veterinary Clinic since January 2007. She resides in the Fort Wayne area with her husband Chris and their five chihuahua's. Darlena is a former Practice Manager for a Veterinary Hospital in Indian Trail, North Carolina. She is now part of our management team and heads up our Client Care Team. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, scrapbooking and spending time outdoors.
