Veterinarians
Dr. Steve Harry
DVM, Owner
Dr. Steve Harry is a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced in the Fort Wayne area since 1986 and has been the owner of Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 1999. Dr. Harry and his wife have 4 children. In addition to his family, Dr. Harry enjoys working outdoors, golf, pickleball and time at the lake.
Dr. Harry limits most of his practice time at DVC to his special interest - orthopedic surgery. "I enjoy working with my hands and the challenge of orthopedic surgery. I also enjoy trying to provide the best pet care and service to our clients that I can. Our clients become friends, and the relationships I've built over the years make veterinary practice very rewarding. It's also exciting to have the privilege to lead a team of hospital staff that truly has a passion for people and a great love for animals."
Dr. Jill Rietdorf
DVM
Dr. Jill Rietdorf is a 2003 graduate of Purdue University Veterinary School of Medicine. She has practiced with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since her graduation in May of 2003. She resides on the north side of Fort Wayne with her three sons, Aiden, Jonah and Graham, their Australian Shepherd/Lab Keiko, and one cat Bashy. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, cheering for her kids at ball games and reading.
Dr. Rietdorf’s special interests include endocrinology, dermatology, endoscopy and surgery. Dr. Rietdorf particularly enjoys small animal gastrointestinal endoscopy and has developed proficient skills over recent years . “My favorite aspect of this profession is the ability to not only bond with the animals, but also with their families.”
Dr. Elizabeth Schaeffer
DVM
Dr. Elizabeth Schaeffer has a BS degree in animal sciences and a DVM degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 2005. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery and oncology. In her spare time she enjoys all outdoor activities, hiking, barbecuing, flower gardening, and home remodeling projects. She also enjoys traveling, being outside in nature watching wildlife and learning how to cook. She and her husband have two sons and a pitbull names Pink.
Dr. Amy Boxberger
DVM
Dr. Amy Boxberger received her DVM degree in 2002 from Michigan State University following the completion of a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Boxberger joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2008 and comes with a wide experience and knowledge base. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Boxberger understands and values the strength of the human-animal bond. She extends her compassionate care to all critters that creep, crawl, and fly in addition to dogs and cats. Dr. Boxberger resides with her husband and two children.
Dr. Valerie Tratnyek
DVM
Dr. Valerie Tratnyek is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She returned to the area in 2000 and practiced on the southwest side of Fort Wayne until joining Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2014. Her special interests include surgery and dermatology. She appreciates the challenge of treating complicated cases involving the skin and ears.
Dr. Tratnyek resides on the north side of Fort Wayne with her husband Dennis and her two sons, Thomas and Eric. They all love playing with their boxer-mix Gwendolyn and cocker spaniel Nessie. In her free time Dr. Tratnyek enjoys reading, working in the yard, and attending her sons’ many sporting events.
Dr. Jessica James
DVM
Dr. Jessica James is originally from southwest Michigan, but completed her veterinary degree at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee in 2019. After graduation, she began her career at a cat-only clinic in California where she fostered her passion for feline-focused medicine as a special interest. She is an active member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and maintains a Cat Friendly Veterinarian certification. Dr. James lives on a small farm in Avilla with her husband, her cat Noah, and two horses, Poppy and Gandalf, and chickens. Outside of work, she likes to cook, ride her horses, work outdoors, and be involved with church activities.
Dr. Jonah Harry
DVM
Dr. Jonah Harry received his DVM degree in 2021 from Ross Univeristy School of Veterinary Medicine following the completion of a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and associates in business from Indiana Univeristy. Dr. Harry has worked at DVC in various capacities for many years and is excited to officially join the DVC team as a veterinarian. Special veterinary interests include orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and emergency care; non-work-related interests include being at the lake with family, fly fishing, backpacking, traveling, and cooking. Dr. Harry has been happily married to his wife, Alexis, since 2018. They both enjoy speding time with their dog (Winnie) and cat (Roo), whom were adopted from St. Kitts.
Dr. Krystle King
DVM
Dr. Krystle King graduated from Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. A third generation veterinarian, Dr. King has quite literally been around the veterinary profession her entire life. She also has extensive experience in canine theriogenology (reproduction) and pediatrics. She currently resides on the west side of Fort Wayne with her husband, Thad and their three dogs (including Lucy the two-legged wonder dog). :) During her free time, Dr. King enjoys spending time on the lake, hiking, traveling, and cheering on the Huntington Forester baseball team which her husband coaches.
Dr. Cullen Kurgan
DVM
Dr. Kurgan was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN, and has had a passion for veterinary medicine since an early age. After attending Purdue University for his undergraduate degree in Animal Science, he then went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at St. George University in Grenada. With his passion for fishing and the outdoors, his first practice outside of vet school lead him to practice off the coast of Georgia. However, when the opportunity to come back to the Midwest arose, he was excited to expand his medical knowledge with our experienced team of doctors and technicians back in Indiana.
Outside of work, he enjoys bass and musky fishing and spending time with his scruffy little dog named Tadpole. Tadpole was struck by a car and became one of Dr. Kurgan’s first patients. They have been best buds ever since!
Dr. Katelyn Evenson
DVM
Dr. Katelyn Evenson is a 2016 graduate from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Ohio as a mixed animal veterinarian for a few years before moving to St. Louis, Missouri – where she practiced as a small animal veterinarian for five years. Dr. Evenson relocated to Fort Wayne in 2024, with her husband and two sons. Her special interests include internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. Outside of work, Dr. Evenson enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, reading, and trying new recipes to bake/cook.

General Office Manager
Carrie joined DVC in July of 2018 as our office manager. She has been in the Veterinary industry since 1990 and couldn't imagine doing anything else. She has worked in all aspects of veterinary medicine from small animal, mixed animal and an equine surgical referral hospital. Carrie is extremely passionate about her job and wants clients and their fur babies to have the best experience while here. Her and her husband, Dan have 2 daughters, Danielle and Taylor, along with 4 horses, 2 dogs, and 1 cat on their farm south of Ft. Wayne.

Inventory Manager
Emily joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant after graduating from the Veterinary Technician Program at International Business College. Emily is currently our inventory manager and a member of our management team. In addition to spending time with her 2 dogs Gertie and Mabel, she enjoys cooking, baking, watching sports, and anything outdoors that involves friends and family. Emily is very passionate about her job and has a great love for all animals. “The people here have become my family away from home”.
Lauren
Training/Compliance Manager
Lauren joined our team at DVC in July of 2018. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry. She has been in the veterinary field since 2007. Her and her husband have a Bulldog named "Bre". In their spare time they love being outdoors and traveling with their 2 young children.
Dani B.
Surgery Manager
Dani joined the Dupont Veterinary Team in 2002. She has loved animals of all kinds since she was a little girl and currently has two dogs named "Cooley" and "Trelly". Dani is the Surgery Manager and cares for all of the surgical and hospitalized pets. Dani lives in Fort Wayne with her husband and three children. Dani enjoys making cakes, gardening, and spending time with her family. Dani is proud to be part of the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team and loves taking care of the pets as well as getting to know their owners.

Katie has been a part of our team since 2020. She is currently a student at IU Fort Wayne studying social work and minoring in psychology and sociology. She has a german shepherd named Nattie and has always loved animals. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys dog sitting, traveling, and playing tennis.
Kasie

Kasie joined DVC in August of 2022. She has always loved animals, even from a young age! She has been riding and showing horses since she was 5 years old. Her hobbies include reading a good book, spending time at the houseboat in the summer, and loving on all 4 of her cats. Her cats names are Lyla (in photo), Simba, Onyx, and Ralph.
Justice

Justice became a member of our CCS in Novemeber of 2022. She has a dog and a cat at home. She also has a young daughter who loves to do gymnastics and play with animals! In her free time she likes to spend quality time with family and friends. She also enjoys hiking and kayaking.
Maddie
Client Care Specialist
Maddie was born and raised in Fort Wayne. She grew up with a dog and a bunny who were patients here at DVC. Bringing her pets here had inspired her to work in the veterinary field. She's always had a love for animals and would spend hours as a kid reading facts about every animal under the sun. She now has two kitties of her own named Alfie and Hank - who both know how to sit and shake :) In her free time she loves to create recipes, cook, and paint.

Kennedy is a Fort Wayne native who has always enjoyed caring for animals! Her passion for the veterinary field started following an internship as a senior in high school at a local veterinary hospital. She has two kitties of her own, named Vera and Beans. In her time outside of work, she loves to listen to podcasts, read, and do anything "artsy" - especially painting and pottery.

Sarah R.
RVT
Sarah graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at IBC in 2007 and has been with Dupont Veteinary Clinic ever since! She has 2 ornery kitties named Bella and Spaz. In her free time, she loves traveling, kayaking and spending time outdoors in the summer. She also enjoys binge watching TV shows with her husband. Sarah loves the bond that she has made with the clients and their pets over the years, along with surgery and endoscopy procedures.

Sarah joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in November 2009 after completing her externship. Sarah is a 2009 graduate of International Business College Vet Tech Institute with an associate's of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In 2010, she passed her national board examination to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Sarah has five pets at home, Cletus, a 3-year old black Lab, Moose, a 2-year old Great Dane and three Dutch rabbits. Sarah cares for all species of pets, but especially enjoys the challenge of exotic animal medicine.

Jen is a 2006 Indiana University graduate and a 2011 graduate from the International Business College Veterinary Technology program. Jen joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in 2011. She has two spoiled cats named Hoolihan and Toothless. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching cooking shows and going to the park with her daughter. Jen frequents Starbucks more than most people and she loves Harry Potter books and movies.

Assistant
Samantha joined our team at DVC in June of 2018 as a Client Care Specialist. She has since become a veterinary assistant. She always wanted to work with animals growing up and she is very thankful she now has the chance at DVC. She has 2 Boston Terriers and a horse named "Pirate". In her spare time she loves traveling, going to concerts, riding her horse, and spending time with family & friends.

Assistant / Phone Nurse
Heather joined the Dupont team in September, 2017 as a veterinary assistant after doing her 3-month externship with us. She graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Heather and her husband James have 3 kids (Aiden, Seanna, and Deklyn), 2 dogs (Duke and Zoe) and 2 cats (Trinity and Faith). She loves being outdoors with her family where they enjoy camping and kayaking.
Danielle
RVT
Danielle joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in January of 2019 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has been in the veterinary industry since 2009 and graduated from Rockford Career College with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She passed her national exam in 2018 to officially become an RVT. Danielle is originally from Wisconsin but also lived in Texas for 7 years before moving to Indiana in December of 2017. Along with her came her 2 horses, Kowboy, an Arabian and Harry, a thoroughbred ex-race horse. She also brought her Corgi, Britain and bob-tail cat, Ben. She enjoys riding her horses, going for walks with her dog, watching Netflix and spending time with family. Most importantly she loves her work and loves getting to help animals and their families everyday.

Breanna joined the DVC team in January 2021. She graduated in 2016 from Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor's degree in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. She has worked as a veterinary assistant for the past 4 years. She recently moved to the Fort Wayne area with her husband and her 2 huskies (Halleigh & Everleigh). Outside of work she enjoys evening walks with her husband and pups, spending time with family and friends, running, and traveling.
Mikaela
RVT
Mikaela joined the DVC team in May 2021. She graduated from International Business College Vet Tech Institute in 2013 as an RVT. She and her husband have a daughter (Carissa) and just welcomed twin baby girls (Alaina & Lydia) to the family in March 2021. As a family they have 2 dogs (Jax & Groot) and 2 cats (Bombies & Mr. Jingles). In her spare time Mikaela enjoys traveling with her family, watching movies, and shopping. She has a passion for helping animals and loves interacting with her patients, clients, and co-workers.
Jacqlyn
RVT
Jacqlyn has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years and has enjoyed every day of it! She recently joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in August 2021. Her passion is surgery and of course the obvious - puppy & kitten snuggles. Jacqlyn and her husband enjoy hiking and searching for geocaches. They also enjoy fishing and waterparks. They have a son named Trevor, who keeps them on their toes and loves to play with their senior black lab, Onyx and cat, Caza. He also has his own pet, a Beta named Blue Toodles. Family and animals are the two most important parts of her life and she is grateful to work in this field.

Taylor joined the DVC team in August, 2020. She has always had a special interest in animals beginning at a very young age. She has a soft spot for senior dogs, especially beagles and great danes. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to be working in a profession so fulfilling! In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking and various outdoor activities with her husband, Wesley.

Molly joined the DVC team in February, 2021 as a Client Care Specialist. She has always had a desire to help people care for their pets. She has a chocolate lab of her own named "Hazel". In her free time she enjoys working with cows at a farm, playing soccer as well as beach volleyball, traveling on missionary trips, and going on tractor rides with her fiance. She has recently started training as an assistant to advance her skillset.

Michelle joined our team in January of 2023, she graduated in 2015 from Purdue University with her Bachelores of Science in Agricultural Communications and Animal Sciences. She has been a vet tech for over 10 years. Working with a variety of speices from equine, exotics, large animal and small animal. When Michelle isn't at DVC she's at home training her European Doberman "Apex" that she competes all over the country in bite sport work. Michelle truly enjoys behavior modification and grooming on the side! Michelle's fur children consist of her 2 Pitbulls, Doberman, German Shepherd, and rescue Pomeranian.

Aiden recently graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at the International Business College in Indianapolis. After completing his internship with us he joined our team here at DVC! He is very excited to use his knowlege and skills from school in day to day practice. In his free time he enjoyes watchign movies, swimming, playing with and taking walks with his dog, Daisy. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and family.

Katie is a veterinary techincian who joined our team in the summer of 2023. She is the middle of two siblings and the only NON-TEACHER in the family! She has 3 dogs, "Bourbon" a cattle dog mix, "Stevie" a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and a American Bully who goes by "Kiwi". She also has 2 cats, "Eggo" and "Rupert". In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and her fiance, James. She loves haning out wiht her animals and adventuring with them. She is passionate about caring for all species...except spiders!

Becky graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2021 with her B.S. in Zoology. She has worked in wildlife rehab and had an internship at the Utica Zoo before starting her career as a veterinary technician. She lives with her fiancé, Zach and her two fur babies, Annie (cattle dog mix) and Roo (DSH). She enjoys reading, biking, watching movies, and spending time with family.

Jade started her career in the veterinary field after an internship in high school where she discovered her passion for animals. She has two dogs a Morkie (Avery) and King Charles Cavalier (Kipper), and a cat named Ellowen. She enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, playing volleyball, traveling and cooking. Jade has been apart of the DVC family since the spring of 2024.
Erin

Erin joind DVC in May 2024 after moving to Fort Wayne from Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2016. She and her husband have a daughter, two dogs (Petey and Rudy), and two cats (Clara and Loni). As a family, they have been enjoying watching their daughter explore all the parks around town. Erin also likes to read, go on walks, and watch TV. She loves working with pets and their families and is grateful to be doing what she loves every day!
