Veterinarians

Dr. Steve Harry

Steve Harry

Dr. Steve Harry is a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced in the Fort Wayne area since 1986 and has been the owner of Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 1999. Dr. Harry and his wife have 4 children; one of their sons, Jonah, hopes to join DVC in the summer of 2021 after he completes vet school. In addition to his family, Dr. Harry enjoys working outdoors, golf, pickleball and time at the lake.

Dr. Harry limits most of his practice time at DVC to his special interest - orthopedic surgery. "I enjoy working with my hands and the challenge of orthopedic surgery. I also enjoy trying to provide the best pet care and service to our clients that I can. Our clients become friends, and the relationships I've built over the years make veterinary practice very rewarding. It's also exciting to have the privilege to lead a team of hospital staff that truly has a passion for people and a great love for animals."

Dr. Jill Rietdorf

Jill Rietdorf

Dr. Jill Rietdorf is a 2003 graduate of Purdue University Veterinary School of Medicine. She has practiced with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since her graduation in May of 2003. She resides on the north side of Fort Wayne with her three sons, Aiden, Jonah and Graham, their Australian Shepher/Lab Keiko, and one cat Bashy.  She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, cheering for her kids at ball games and reading.

Dr. Rietdorf’s special interests include endocrinology, dermatology, endoscopy and surgery. Dr. Rietdorf particularly enjoys small animal gastrointestinal endoscopy and has developed proficient skills over recent years .  “My favorite aspect of this profession is the ability to not only bond with the animals, but also with their families.”

Dr. Elizabeth Schaeffer

Dr. Elizabeth Schaeffer has a BS degree in animal sciences and a DVM degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with Dupont Veterinary Clinic since 2005. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery and oncology. In her spare time she enjoys all outdoor activities, hiking, barbecuing, flower gardening, and home remodeling projects. She also enjoys traveling, being outside in nature watching wildlife and learning how to cook.  She and her husband have two young sons and a rescued Dachshund-Beagle mix named Tater.

Dr. Amy Boxberger

Amy Boxberger

Dr. Amy Boxberger received her DVM degree in 2002 from Michigan State University following the completion of a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Boxberger joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2008 and comes with a wide experience and knowledge base. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Boxberger understands and values the strength of the human-animal bond. She extends her compassionate care to all critters that creep, crawl, and fly in addition to dogs and cats. Dr. Boxberger resides with her husband and two children.

Dr. Valerie Tratnyek

Valerie Tratnyek

Dr. Valerie Tratnyek is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She returned to the area in 2000 and practiced on the southwest side of Fort Wayne until joining Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2014. Her special interests include surgery and dermatology. She appreciates the challenge of treating complicated cases involving the skin and ears.

Dr. Tratnyek resides on the north side of Fort Wayne with her husband Dennis and her two sons, Thomas and Eric. They all love playing with their boxer-mix Gwendolyn and cocker spaniel Nessie. In her free time Dr. Tratnyek enjoys reading, working in the yard, and attending her sons’ many sporting events.

Dr. Gabby Maddox (Pilla)

Dr. Gabby Maddox graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.  She is originally from Pennsylvania where she received her bachelor's degree from York College.  Her special interests include dermatology, internal medicine, nutrition and behavior medicine.  She currently resides on the north side of  Fort Wayne with her husband Kyle.  They have two dogs, a Pitbull named Bishop and a Dachshund/Beagle named Felix.  During her free time Dr. Maddox enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking and attending sporting events.  She is excited to now call Fort Wayne her home and loves the relationships she has built so far. 

Dr. Rachel Riley

Rachel Riley

Dr. Rachel Riley received her bachelor's degree from Purdue University and then went on to finish her veterinary degree at Purdue's College of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2019.  She is from the Hoagland area and currently resides in Monroeville, Indiana with her husband, Jordan. They have one dog, a Golden Retriever named Bruno. During her free time, Dr. Riley helps on her husband's family farm, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.  

Dr. Jessica Trubey

Jessica  Trubey

Dr. Jessica Trubey is originally from southwest Michigan, but completed her veterinary degree in Tennessee.  After graduation, she began her career at a cat-only clinic in California where she learned her passion for feline-focused medicine.  She currently has one cat named Noah, but plans on having horses and goats again soon!  In her free time, she enjoys cooking, knitting, exercising, and being involved in church activities.  She is so happy to be back in the Midwest and we are certainly elated to have her on our team!

Carrie joined DVC in July of 2018 as our office manager. She has been in the Veterinary industry since 1990 and couldn't imagine doing anything else. She has worked in all aspects of veterinary medicine from small animal, mixed animal and an equine surgical referral hospital. Carrie is extremely passionate about her job and wants clients and their fur babies to have the best experience while here. Her and her husband, Dan have 2 daughters, Danielle and Taylor, along with 4 horses, 2 dogs, and 1 cat on their farm south of Ft. Wayne.

Emily joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant after graduating from the Veterinary Technician Program at International Business College. Emily is currently a staff trainer and a member of our management team. In addition to spending time with her fur babies: Buddy a 14-year old Puggle, Gertie a 5-year old Golden Doodle and Sam an 12-year old cat, she enjoys cooking, baking, watching sports, and anything outdoors that involves friends and family. Emily is very passionate about her job and has a great love for all animals. “The people here have become my family away from home”.

Lauren joined our team at DVC in July of 2018. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry. She has been in the Veterinary field for over 11 years now. Her and her husband have a Bulldog named "Bre" and a new kitten named "Ivy". In their spare time they love being outdoors and traveling with their 2 young children.

Dani joined the Dupont Veterinary Team in 2002. She has loved animals of all kinds since she was a little girl and currently has a Manx cat named Daisy. Dani is the Surgery Manager and cares for all of the surgical and hospitalized pets. Dani lives in Fort Wayne with her husband and three children. Dani enjoys making cakes, gardening, and spending time with her family. Dani is proud to be part of the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team and loves taking care of the pets as well as getting to know their owners.

Samantha

Samantha joined our team at DVC in June of 2018 as a Client Care Specialist. She always wanted to work with animals growing up and she is very thankful she now has the chance at DVC. She grew up around all sorts of animals, dogs and horses are 2 of her favorites. She has 2 Bengal cats of her own and a Boston Terrier who is her baby. In her spare time she loves traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with family, friends and her boyfriend.   

McKaelon

McKaelon joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in November of 2019. She has 3 dogs and a leopard gecko. Working with animals is something she has dreamed of doing since she was very young, and she is loving the opportunity to get to know all of our clients and their pets. McKaleon hopes to one day become a technician and continue her dream of working with animals.

Natalie joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in August of 2019 as a client care specialist. Natalie enjoys riding horses with her Dad. Together, they own one horse and two ponies. Natalie has always had a special interest in Veterinary sciences and is excited to be able to work with animals everyday. In her spare time she loves being active and playing sports outside.

Taylor

Taylor joined the DVC team in August, 2020.  She has always had a special interest in animals beginning at a very young age.  She has a beagle/blue heeler mix named Olsen, a border collie mix named Finn and a Great Dane named Scout.  She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to be working in a profession so fulfilling and cannot wait to see what her future with DVC entails!  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, outdoor activities and traveling with her husband, Wesley.  Taylor also enjoys home desing and renovation projects on her 100 year old farmhouse. 

Gabriela

Gabi joined the Dupont Veterinary team in September of 2020.  She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Animal Science. Gabi lives with her husband, Justin and their newest addition, a cat named Chonk.  In her spare time, Gabi loves riding horses, snow boarding, plants and tea. Gabi is a musician and loves singing and playing music with her husband. 

Kady

Kady worked as a waitress for 8 years before beginning her dream career at DVC.  She has an cutest little boy, Kamdyn.  She also has a german shepherd named Kane and a rescue cat named Drako along with a snake named Riddick. She plans on extending her knowledge here at DVC.  In her free time, she loves spending time with her life partner, Kole and their large family.  Together, they enjoy exploring nature, outdoor activites, hiking and the joy of parenthood! 

Dani C

Dani is a full-time student at Purdue University of Fort Wayne. She has been on the Dean's list for 2 years while she studies Human Services, graduating in 2023.  She loves animals and has always wanted a career working with them.  After she finishes school, she just may go back to school to become a veterinary technician or even a veterinarian! Dani has a German Shorthaired Pointer named Stohon who loves to run free and play catch in open fields.  Before beginning at DVC, she worked in a retirement home for 3 years.  In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Sarah graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at IBC in 2007 and has been with Dupont Veteinary Clinic ever since! She has 2 ornery kitties named Bella and Spaz. In her free time, she loves traveling, kayaking and spending time outdoors in the summer.  She also enjoys binge watching TV shows with her husband.  Sarah loves the bond that she has made with the clients and their pets over the years, along with surgery and endoscopy procedures.

Sarah joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in November 2009 after completing her externship. Sarah is a 2009 graduate of International Business College Vet Tech Institute with an associate's of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In 2010, she passed her national board examination to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Sarah has five pets at home, Cletus, a 3-year old black Lab, Moose, a 2-year old Great Dane and three Dutch rabbits. Sarah cares for all species of pets, but especially enjoys the challenge of exotic animal medicine. 

Jen

Jen

Jen is a 2006 Indiana University graduate and a 2011 graduate from the International Business College Veterinary Technology program. Jen joined the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team in 2011 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has two spoiled cats named Hoolihan and Toothless. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching cooking shows and going to the park with her daughter. Jen frequents Starbucks more than most people and she loves Harry Potter books and movies.  

Shelby

Shelby began working for Dupont Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 2014 as a Veterinary Assistant. Shelby graduated with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from International Business College in 2014. Shelby lives in Ft. Wayne with her husband Anthony and their English Bulldog named Wally.  In her spare time she loves spending time with her husband, family, and friends. They enjoy golfing and vacationing to warm places.

Cortney joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in April, 2016 as a veterinary technician. She is a 2016 graduate of International Business College Vet Tech Institute with an associate's degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. Cortney enjoys singing, sports, and outdoor activities with her family and friends.  She also enjoys her Mini Golden Doodle, Wrigley!

Sam joined the DVC team in January of 2017 as a veterinary assistant and a client care specialist.  Sam graduated from Masters of Cosmetology in 2014, but then decided to pursue her passion for animals and join the veterinary field. Sam and her husband have 1 son and 4 fur-babies, Apollo, Auggie, Cash and Ruger. They enjoy being outside, kayaking and spending time with family and friends. 

Lindsay

Lindsay joined the Dupont team in February, 2017 as a veterinary technician. She graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology from International Business College in 2016. She has an adorable Shepherd mix named Sammy. In her free time she coaches softball. Lindsay loves watching all kinds of sports (especially "The" Ohio State football) and spending time with her family.

Heather joined the Dupont team in September, 2017 as a veterinary technician after doing her 3-month externship with us. She graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Heather and her husband James have 3 kids (Aiden, Seanna, and Deklyn), 2 dogs (Duke and Zoe) and 2 cats (Trinity and Faith). She loves being outdoors with her family where they enjoy camping and kayaking.

Rachel joined the Dupont team in July 2017. She graduated from IPFW with a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management. Rachel loves to travel to new places as well as spending time with her family and friends. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her Shelties, Bella and Gidget, and with her husband Tyler! Rachel loves coming into work and helping to make a difference in our pet's and client's lives.

Madison

Madison joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in December, 2017 after completing her externship. She graduated from Ball State in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in biology. She then went on to pursue her dream job and enrolled in the Vet Tech program at IBC. She graduated in 2017 and shortly thereafter passed her national exam to become a licensed technician. Madison has one fur-baby, a 7 year old Bichon named Olivia. Madison has always had a strong passion for animals and she is so happy she can come to work everyday doing what she loves. 

Danielle

Danielle

Danielle joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic in January of 2019 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has been in the veterinary industry since 2009 and graduated from Rockford Career College with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She passed her national exam in 2018 to officially become an RVT. Danielle is originally from Wisconsin but also lived in Texas for 7 years before moving to Indiana in December of 2017. Along with her came her 2 horses, Kowboy, an Arabian and Harry, a thoroughbred ex-race horse. She also brought her Corgi, Britain and bob-tail cat, Ben. She enjoys riding her horses, going for walks with her dog, watching Netflix and spending time with family. Most importantly she loves her work and loves getting to help animals and their families everyday.

Katie joined Dupont Veterinary Clinic after completing her externship in March of 2019.  She graduated from International Business College from the Veterinary Technician program in early 2019. Katie has 2 fur babies, Sandee is a pitbull/lab mix and Lucy is a terrier mix. In her free time Katie enjoys trying new make-up trends, playing with her dogs and binge-watching TV shows with her boyfriend, Tommy. Katie is so excited to be a part our team and share her passion of helping animals. 

Pam

Pam

Pam graduated from the Vet Tech Institue at IBC in 2018.  She joined the DVC team in 2020. Pam enjoys kitty cuddles from her 7 cats, Jax, Melon, Riley, Teddy, Ellie, Sassin and Luci. She also enjoys coffee, Harry Potter, spending time with her family, and her boyfriend, Michael.
